Wind Windows for Relaxed Sea Days
Use the meltemi to your advantage by pairing forecasts with flexible routes.
The meltemi is reliable, but that does not mean your sea day has to feel rushed. We map three daily data points—Poseidon, Windy and port captains’ briefings—to find two-hour pockets where the gusts soften and swell lines flatten out.
Before the day
Share guest preferences 48 hours ahead. We start tracking steady breeze trends, confirm the boat’s stabilizers are ready and pre-set backup moorings on the leeside of Rhenia or the south coast. If a northerly spikes above 26 knots, we flag earlier departures so you can clear the channel before chop builds.
During the charter
Your captain keeps a live spreadsheet of wind shifts versus scheduled swims and lunches. When the gusts veer, we swap coves quickly: Ornos to Psarou, or Lia to Kalo Livadi. We also prep the crew on serving lunch underway if staying on anchor is uncomfortable.
After the call
We document what worked and feed it into the next outing. The goal is a simple briefing: where the lulls are, which tenders stay dry and which decks remain usable for kids or filming. When the weather does the talking, the plan already has answers.
