Yacht Day Routes: Rhenia, Delos and Wind‑Smart Alternatives

Plot a day that balances calm coves, timing and a sunset crossing.

Rhenia and Delos make the island’s classic circuit for a reason: clear water over pale sand, ruins on the horizon and a return leg that turns the white houses of Chora gold. The best days are simple - two or three unhurried swims, a light lunch and a sunset crossing that takes its time.

Fair‑weather circuit

Depart late morning and point for Rhenia’s lee, slipping into a cove where the sand shelves gently and the swell barely moves the boat. Lunch can be a tablecloth and rosé or a quick spread between swims. Idle past Delos as the light softens and time the run home to meet the first lamps switching on in town.

When the meltemi blows

The map changes, not the mood. Hug the protected side, swap long hops for short ones and choose bays that hold their shape against the wind. Keep lunch flexible - on board or at a sheltered taverna - so the day flows with the forecast instead of fighting it.
